Michelle Jimenez
Massage Therapist, Acupuncturist and CA
Michelle Jimenez brings years of experience in Chinese medicine and bodywork to Active Body Chiropractic, where she serves as a Therapist and Chiropractic Assistant. Her wide range of skills in acupuncture and soft tissue therapy fits naturally alongside the hands-on care the practice is known for, giving patients a truly integrated experience under one roof.
A Path Rooted in Purpose
Michelle’s journey into healthcare began close to home. Growing up in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, she was shaped early by her mother’s guiding philosophy: whatever you do, do something to help people. That stayed with her. While she initially explored a path in nursing, she discovered Chinese medicine along the way and found it was exactly where she was meant to be. She graduated from Midwest College (formerly Midwest College of Oriental Medicine) and has been practicing as an acupuncturist for nearly four years.
What She Offers
At Active Body Chiropractic, Michelle provides a broad range of therapeutic services which she blends into one combined method, including:
- Medical massage
- Acupuncture (Eastern, Neuro, Sports)
- Electrical needle stimulation (e-stim)
- Moxa therapy, including smokeless moxa
- Cupping
- Gua sha
Michelle’s combined therapy method blends well with other restorative soft tissue methods used at our clinic. Adding the eastern influence, Michelle brings new ways to heal the body. Medical massage, cupping and gua sha combined with both Eastern acupuncture, Neuropuncture and Sports acupuncture techniques can help heal all kinds of different muscular and nervous system problems.
Our Services
Always Learning
Michelle is currently working toward several advanced certifications, mostly focused on the nervous system. She is pursuing neuropuncture training that explores the relationship between classical acupuncture and neurological function, and she is also studying sports acupuncture with a focus on motor and trigger points. With so many patients presenting with back, neck, and shoulder concerns, she has found that sports-oriented acupuncture remains especially relevant in her work. It is a core part of how she practices.
Outside the Practice
When she steps away from work, Michelle loves to run outside. A warm day and open pavement are her reset button. She also makes regular trips to the Northwoods when she needs to unwind fully, trading city life for a quieter pace for a while.
