Wrestling

The sport of wrestling matches athletes of equal weight classes to compete in a contest of strength, endurance, and technical skill.  The intensity of the training involved as well as competition places extremely high demands on the participating athletes.

The physicality of wrestling causes a great number of injuries.  More serious injuries may include concussions and fractures (especially to the nose).  Joint sprains, muscle strains, and other conditions such as cauliflower ear are also common.

Due to the intense training required, wrestlers must be very conscience of dehydration (especially to those trying to cut weight for a competition).  The consequences of dehydration can be extremely serious.
