Tennis Elbow (lateral epicondylitis)

Tennis elbow is a problem that is caused by the motion of a tennis player's backhand swing.  The muscles on the back of the forearm which attach to the outside edge of the elbow are responsible for this motion.  Basically this motion causes a tendonitis/muscle strain of these muscles (collectively these muscles are called your forearm extensors).

The treatment of tennis elbow involves the restoration of proper function to the muscles and tendons of the forearm extensors.  Using Active Release Technique, proper motion and function are again restored to the individual muscles that make up this forearm group, in particular the extensor carpi radialis, extensor carpi ulnaris, extensor digitorum, and supinator muscles.
