Separated
Shoulder
An injury to the acromial-clavicular joint, separated shoulders
usually occur as a result of a direct blow (often a fall) to the
point of the shoulder or falling on an outstretched arm. The
injury can be broken down into classifications, Grade I (mild sprain
of the AC ligament) to Grade IV-VI (involving a complete disruption
and dislocation of the joint). To ensure proper healing, a rehabilitation
program is essential. Active Release will aid in greatly speeding
the recovery time and in helping to regain full function.
