The Hamstrings, Iliotibial Band, Gluteus Medius, and Vastus Lateralis

These four muscles control and stabilize the legs, especially during quick changes of direction, balance, and lateral motion.  Proper function of these muscles is critical in all sports.  Each of these muscles controls a separate critical motion.  Problems begin to arise when adhesions or scar tissue develop between these muscles causing them to stick and pull on each other.  This greatly limits their ability for proper function and can lead to recurrent muscle strains.  Using A.R.T., the proper motion and function of these muscles must be restored to maximize the potential of the athlete.
