Joint
Dislocations
A
dislocation is the displacement of the bones of a joint. This injury
involves a partial or complete tearing of the connective tissue
surrounding the joint. The joint can either completely dislocate,
requiring relocation by a trained professional, or partially dislocate,
in which the bones in the joint return to their normal position.
A dislocation requires immobilization and, in extreme cases, surgery.
Once healed, rehabilitation is necessary. The use of Active
Release with the rehabilitation can be extremely effective in regaining
normal function.
