Cauliflower Ear

Also known as perichondritis, cauliflower ear is an inflammation of the outer ear due to trauma.  Bleeding under the skin causes the swelling of the ear.  Draining of the blood is necessary to prevent permanent disfigurement.  Protective ear guards are worn to prevent this condition.
